Iriscope I60 v5.1

Iriscope I60 version 5.1

Introduction

Taking a Photo

What's so great about it?

The IrisExplorer v5 is our most advanced iris Lighting System.

The main new feature is a Soft Flash. A comfortable low light allows the camera to focus and when ready a flash is triggered to take a high-quality photo. It is very comfortable for clients and has a noticeable increase in image quality.

The Iriscope I60 v5 is a full package that includes the IrisExplorer v5 and a Canon camera with a Canon 60mm Macro lens.

IrisExplorer v5 is our most advanced iris Lighting System.

Improvements:
- Comfort for your clients (the light is reduced until the photo is actually taken, then a brief flash for when the camera shutter opens for 1/50 of a second)
- Better for dark Irises
- Better for Inner Pupillary Border (IPB)

Light Intensity:

The light intensity that reaches the eye from the IEv5 is maximum 11'000 Lux for a few milliseconds during the flash (about 55% of the light from standing in the shade and looking at a blue sky or 9.9% of sunlight - Link). The IEv5 has been very carefully designed to control light intensity and colour.

INCLUDED

  • Iris Lighting device (IrisExplorer v5)
  • Canon 60mm Macro lens*
  • Canon Camera (select which camera you want)
  • Carry bag
  • SD memory card
  • Macro extension tube(s)

  • NB:  * The Canon 60mm lens is no longer made by Canon. We're still able to find this lens, but sometimes they are refurbished units. Sometimes refurbished units are the only ones available. We only use lenses that are in very good/ near new condition. We wish Canon would continue to make this lens as there is no lens that is as good for iris photos. If this is not something you wish, then please try to find a 60mm lens locally and let us know you have one before ordering.

      1. High-quality photo ensures the sharpness and true colours preserved
      2. Focusing is automatic, a few seconds to photograph both irises make it easy & quick to use.
      3. Cuts out most of the ambient light, thus less light pollution
      4. Lateral lighting (optional) brings out certain types of structural details
      5. Microchip controlled lighting On/Off with Left/Right & Dim
      6. Specialised (Pulse-Modulated) LEDs: Giving a soft and perfect white colour caste, which interacts correctly with the camera settings to reveal the maximum detail
      7. Designed for both blue & brown irises
      8. Front opening fits all morphologies (adults & children)
      9. Comfortable & hygienic
      10. Robust design, for repeated clinic & lab use over many years
    • Canon is synonymous with high-quality photos and the IE lighting is specifically designed to be compatible with their lens and bodies.

The 60mm Macro lens is perfect for the task. Mounted on any Canon DSLR, the IE lighting will enable sharp photos which are true to the real colours of the iris. If you already have a camera with the Canon 60mm Macro lens, you can buy the iris lighting system alone (IrisExplorer) here.
      1. Pulse-Modulated Intensity control 'PMC 5 Technology'* Gives soft, yet strong light with Dimming option for sensitive patients
      2. PMC-5 Technology = Pulse Microchip Control 5th Generation (Details)
      3. Pulse-Modulated Intensity = Light is pulsed at high frequency, invisible for our eyes, thus reducing the feeling of brightness but the camera still gets 100% light intensity. Electronically controlling the length of the pulses, creates a dimming effect that has no effect on the colour of the light and low impact on camera sensitivity. (See video for a more detailed explanation)
      1. Dimensions of the iris lightening system only :
      2. 127 g & 187 g (with 60mm lens adaptor tube & macro ext tube)
      3. 125 x 68 x 104 mm (with no adaptor tube)
    • Any computer that enables you to view digital photos is enough. It doesn't make a difference if you're using Windows, Mac or Linux. If the computer is very old (or very slow) it might not be practical for use in a clinic, so as long as the computer works well for most other uses it will work for this purpose also.

However, we do recommend a screen size of at least 13" as this makes viewing photos easier (15" or more is better), the higher the resolution of the screen the better.

      1. Mac: The standard “Preview” software is great... so just transfer the photos from the camera to a folder on your computer and double click the image.
(More advanced software, like Photo from Apple, are great for more advanced users).
      2. Windows: Same as above, the standard software is great... so just transfer the photos from the camera to a folder on your computer and double click the image.
(Note: there are hundreds of advanced and intermediate software options on windows)
    • IEv5 : Standard 9v square battery (easy to change & 100% safe)

At full power, the LEDs in the IrisExplorer are designed to last 100 000 hours. In this application, they don't run at full power so can be expected to last a fair bit longer. There is an automatic light-off feature after 10mins in case you forget to switch off the lights, so in the worst-case scenario where you never switch it off manually, you should be able to use it on more than 600 000 patients...

    Shipping & Import Taxes

Most countries charge import taxes for products that enter the country/zone. It's the importer (You) that is required to cover this. The shipping company (Eg. DHL) will request this and add some administration fees to manage the import process for you.

Please only order if you are able and willing to cover these fees. If these fees are not paid the product will be sent back to us. This creates extra costs (shipping back to us + extra admin fees from DHL and IRISLAB). These extra shipping and admin costs will be added to your invoice if you wish it to be sent to a different address or taken from your refund if you wish a refund. Thank you for your understanding
